This section reviewed a single patient and how to accurately make records.  These records show a variety of esthetic and functional relationships.

  • Look at wear facets to determine movement of mandible
  • Do they have attrition or erosion
  • Angular wear occurs on a pathway, particularly on lower incisors
  • End to end wear is flat
  • Wear on the lingual of lower incisors shows a crossover wear pattern, so beyond end to end
  • Intercuspal position for equilibration can be useful
  • Start end to end to equilibrate the lower incisors for broad, flat contacts
  • The broader and flatter the contacts, the more protection it provides to the porcelain crown or porcelain veneer
